HxGN LIVE travels across the globe to Hong Kong 18-20 November.
Hexagon’s international conference and exhibition, HxGN LIVE, is almost here. Join us for inspiring keynotes, unlimited networking and must-see technologies.
From humankind’s transition from a nomadic culture to the settler’s life of farming and spurring the Agricultural Revolution to the invention of the steam engine and rise of the Industrial Revolution, change has always been a constant. In the midst of today’s Digital Revolution, the geospatial industry plays a key role in guiding our world through this latest disruption.
In his keynote address, Hexagon Geosystems President Juergen Dold will address how geospatial technology is effectively managing rapid change. He will share stories from around the world of how customers have harnessed the power of digital realities to create and advance a mobile and connected world. From managing land and city assets to understanding deviations in critical infrastructure, Dold takes you through the geospatial industry’s own digital revolution.
Joining Dold on stage to provide a unique perspective on the China and Asia-Pacific markets are Du Bin, president of Hexagon Geosystems China, and Matthew Smith, president of Hexagon Geosystems Asia Pacific. With forward-looking proposals and dynamic discussion, this is the keynote to attend.
Divided into three sub-tracks – Surveying and Engineering, Construction and BIM, and Geospatial Solutions -, we have sessions to meet each unique need. Here’s a sampling from each sub-track
Surveying and Engineering
Application of Laser Scanner for Surveying and Engineering Projects
This presentation will show a major tunnel construction project in the busy city centre of Hong Kong. Construction Services company AECOM Hong Kong participated in this project using many Leica Geosystems high precision instruments (e.g. TS30, DNA03, etc.) . During this presentation, you will see how Leica Geosystems instruments were successfully applied to take major role in this technically and logistically challenging project.
Construction and BIM
BIM Case Study – Huge Scan and Model Project of Shopping Centre
Sydney based Project Surveyors has over 20 staff and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014. Scan since 2011, our C10, P20 and MS50 are utilized in As-built Surveys, construction surveys and planning projects. In this presentation, we’ll be discussing a major project to scan and create a BIM model of a shopping centre in Sydney’s ever expanding North West, which is undergoing redevelopment and will become the second biggest retail centre in Australia. Project Surveyors were engaged to prepare a survey-accurate architectural and structural Revit model of the existing centre encompassing approximately 375,000m2. This presentation will deal with the practical challenges faced in undertaking an exercise of this magnitude in an efficient manner. It will show how lessons learnt at previous scanning conferences assisted in process improvements. The use of Leica Scan Stations C10, P20 and Nova MS50 MultiStation along with cloud-to-cloud auto align registration with Cyclone 9 will be discussed. We will look at the requirements of the client – deliverables, LOD – and problems faced and solved, including file sizes from databases, point cloud files and the model itself, plus work-sharing on a central model in Revit so that multiple modellers can work in collaboration.
Real 3D Technology Helps the Construction of the Smart City Space-Time Information/Tech News
This report introduces the methods and the standard process of generating the 5D product(DSM, DEM, DOM, TDOM, DLG) synchronously in only a few weeks, which using the Leica RCD30 to capture the image data. The 5D product can constitute the smart city static information by overlaying the ground, underground and interior information. And on this basis the smart city space-time information will be comprised by overlaying the dynamic information and public information on the static information. The report also describes the application of the space-time information in the smart city construction in various fields. After the customer story from Xueyou Li there will be short technical update about newest development in RCD30 Oblique camera: News on RCD30 / Penta Oblique (15 minutes)
